The region that is covered by the Regional Partnership Workforce Development Board is Alamance, Orange and Randolph Counties in North Carolina. Truly at the core of the state, the three counties are supported by Interstates 85, 40 and 73 which provides one day trucking access to 60% of the U.S. Population. The region is also supported by two international airports within an hour's drive.

The region is home to a diverse economy of manufacturing, service, retail, transportation, tourism, healthcare and education. The three counties enjoy a rich history dating back to pre-revolutionary war times, yet are on the cutting edge in many industries and are marked by lush wooded countrysides. Vistors are drawn to such attractions as the North Carolina Zoo, the University of North Carolina, Elon College, wineries, outstanding golf courses, pottery, historical sites and outdoor activities.
